All MOBOTIX cameras with 1536 image lines offer much sharper detail than CIF format. CIF formats only have 0.1 megapixels. Even with reduced VGA recording at 480 lines, MOBOTIX cameras still provide superior and more detailed images than other IP cameras. The superior image handling is a direct result of the precise MOBOTIX software scaling which uses the full 1536 lines of the image sensor. CIF hardware puts lines in the images and the MOBOTIX cameras simply leave out the lines to provide a more accurate and complete image.
The "progressive-scan" image sensor in MOBOTIX cameras do not have the interlace jitter common in 4CIF recordings which results in blurry display of moving objects. All this makes MOBOTIX VGA recordings much more detailed than recordings in 4CIF format.
